To celebrate the Georgian national football team's historic victory and participation in the 2024 European Championship, the National Bank of Georgia will issue a Euro 2024 collector's coin. The decision was made by the Board of the National Bank of Georgia. The NBG will collaborate with the Georgian Football Federation to design the collectible coin.

This marks the Georgian football team's first appearance at the European Championship. The 2024 European Championship will take place in Germany, with the Georgian national team playing their first group match against the Turkish national team on June 18.

In 2022, to commemorate the hosting of EuroBasket in Georgia, the NBG issued a silver coin with a denomination of 5 GEL for collection purposes, themed EuroBasket 2022.
