National Bank of Georgia Shares Warning Notice

National Bank of Georgia Shares Warning Notice

29 July, 2022

The internet has been flooded recently by seemingly favorable financial offers, which show signs of phishing. More specifically, there are advertising offers containing internet links that resemble the addresses of real websites. To respond to the attractive offers, users visit these pages and fill in the required information. What really happens in these instances is that users share personal, banking and/or other sensitive information with the website owners. Cases are reported when users are offered to top up their mobile phone account for less by purchasing different packages.

The National Bank of Georgia reiterates its warning for users, kindly asking them to exercise special caution when sharing their personal and banking data with such websites. Users are strongly encouraged to verify and carefully examine the address of the website where the information is entered, to search information on the reliability and work of the company concerned, and, if the company seems reliable and familiar, to check the validity of the offer.
