Natia Turnava Meets with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li

Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, along with Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili, met with Bo Li, the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.

The meeting addressed current global and regional challenges, focusing on cooperation with the IMF. The participants highlighted the strengths of the Georgian economy, emphasizing achievements in maintaining a sustainable fiscal balance and price stability through coordinated actions between the National Bank of Georgia and the Government.

Natia Turnava underscored the priority of accumulating international reserves and maintaining them at an optimal level. She also emphasized the importance of continuing the de-dollarization process, noting recent decisions by the NBG in this regard.

Bo Li expressed the IMF's readiness to assist Georgia in implementing further reforms and praised the country's macroeconomic and financial stability, low inflation, improved current account balance, and implemented reforms.

The meeting was attended by Vice Governor of the National Bank of Georgia Ekaterine Mikabadze, First Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze, Deputy Ministers Ekaterine Guntsadze and Mirza Gelashvili, and Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
