Natia Turnava Engages with Major International Investment Funds and American Investors

Natia Turnava, the Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, recently led a delegation that participated in a conference organized by Bank of America. During the event, Turnava and other delegation members engaged with representatives from major international investment funds and American investors. Companies such as Morgan Stanley, M&G Investment, Sayles & Company, Amundi Societa di Gestione del Risparmio, Artisan Partners, Barings, Danske Bank, Fidelity Management & Research Company, LGT Capital Partners, and Schroder Investment Management North America were among the participants.


The Georgian delegation highlighted the country's attractive investment potential and stable macroeconomic environment to the American investors. They emphasized Georgia's economic strengths, including maintaining a sustainable fiscal balance, price stability, a growing trend in service exports, and the tourism sector's contribution.


The stability of Georgia's financial sector, its high economic growth rate, and low inflation levels resulting from prudent monetary policy were also discussed. The parties exchanged views on current global and regional challenges and recognized the importance of regional expansion, which offers new opportunities for the banking sector.


Natia Turnava underscored Georgia's priority of accumulating and maintaining international reserves at an optimal level. She also emphasized the ongoing de-dollarization process, which the National Bank Georgia is actively pursuing.


The meeting organized by Bank of America was attended by NBG Vice Governor Ekaterine Mikabadze, Head of Financial Markets Department Giorgi Laliashvili, and Deputy Minister of Finance Mirza Gelashvili, among others.
